Camel Thorn Lodge

This concession is located on over 40,000 acres where Namibia, Botswana and South Africa meet in the heart of the Kalahari Desert. The desert is alive with a wide variety of birds and game adapted to this harsh environment. The Kalahari is known for its oryx and springbuck. Other huntable species include steenbuck, duiker, black faced impala, white and common blesbuck, red hartebeest, black and blue wildebeest, Greater kudu, Cape eland, waterbuck, jackal, African wild cat, bat eared fox, Cape fox, aardwolf, caracal, giraffe and Burchell’s zebra. The lodge is exclusive, impressive yet elegantly comfortable. It consists of 2 bedrooms in the main complex and 2 nearby private double chalets overlooking a floodlit water hole and the border with Botswana in the distance. The main building houses the dining room, view deck, lounge and small pool with an open-air fire pit adjacent to the pool. It is a total of 4 rooms with 8 beds. Your hosts are truly unique and extremely hospitable and will make you feel at home and part of the family. Windhoek International airport is the port of entry. To travel by car from Windhoek to the concession, takes about 5 hours or alternatively one can take a 1 hours flight in a private charter.
